다크 나이트 신화의 전설이 끝난다

배트맨이 조커와의 대결을 끝으로 세상에서 모습을 감춘 8년 후, 하비 덴트의 죽음에 대한 책임을 떠안은 배트맨은 모든 것을 희생하며 떠나고.. 범죄방지 덴트법으로 인해 한동안 평화가 지속되던 고담시의 파멸을 예고하며 나타난 마스크를 쓴 잔인한 악당, 최강의 적 베인이 등장한다. 베인은 배트맨이 스스로 택한 유배 생활에 종지부를 찍게 하지만, 다시 돌아온 배트맨에게 베인은 만만한 상대가 아니다.

자신을 거부한 사람들의 고통을 지켜볼 것인가, 정의의 수호자로 나설 것인가.

■ 감독 : 크리스토퍼 놀란 (Christopher Nolan)

7살 때 영화를 찍기 시작하여 19살이던 1989년, 8㎜ 초현실주의 단편영화 <타란텔라>를 시작으로 단편영화 <도둑질>이 캠브리지영화제에서 상영되었고, 1998년 <미행>으로 장편영화에 데뷔하였다. 일년 간 주말에만 게릴라 방식으로 촬영한 이 영화는 토론토영화제, 로테르담영화제, 슬램댄스영화제 등 국제 영화제에서 큰 호평을 받았다.
불면과 기억, 심리에 관한 탁월한 고찰이 돋보이는 <메멘토>와 <인썸니아>로 전 세계의 주목을 받게 되었다. 특히 <메멘토>는 2000년 아카데미와 골든글로브 시나리오 부문에 노미네이트되었으며, 선댄스영화제 각본상, 시카고 비평가 협회상, LA 비평가 협회상과 방송, 영화 비평가협회가 선정한 최고의 영화로 선정되었다. 2003년 런던영화비평가협회 올해의 감독으로 선정되었다. <배트맨 비긴즈>와 <다크나이트>로 블록버스터에서도 탁월한 재능이 있음을 세계에 알렸다.

■ 출연 : 크리스찬 베일 (Christian Bale)
 
1977년생으로 런던 출신이며 12세부터 기숙사 학교를 다니며, 드라마, 음악 그리고 예술에 관심을 갖게 되었고 나중에는 정식으로 Drama Center에서 공부를 하였다.

이후 톰 행크스와 스티븐 스필버그가 제작한 HBO의 미니 시리즈인 <밴드 오브 브라더스>, 리들리 스콧 감독의 <블랙 호크 다운>에 출연하면서 배우로서 발돋움하게 된다. 1966년 TV시리즈로 시작된 <스타트랙>의 열 번째 극장용 영화 <스타트랙 10 - 네메시스>에서는 로물루스 행성의 베일에 싸인 새로운 집정관 신존 역을 맡았다.
